The short version

VocabBoost has no accounts and no sign-up form. We don't ask for your name, email or password. We use Google Analytics to understand how the site is used.

Flashcard progress

When you rate flashcards, your progress (which words you marked "Got it" or "Still learning", and your last deck) is saved in your browser's local storage on your device. It is not sent to us. You can erase it any time with the "Reset all progress" button on the practice page, or by clearing your browser's site data.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 to count page views and a few interactions, such as starting a practice session, rating a flashcard or answering a practice question. Google Analytics uses cookies and collects information such as your approximate location, device and browser type, and the pages you visit. We use this only to improve the site. Google's handling of this data is described in Google's Privacy Policy, and you can opt out with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.

Hosting

Like any website, our hosting provider may process standard request data (such as IP address and browser type) to deliver pages and protect against abuse.

Children

VocabBoost is a study tool aimed at high-school, college and graduate students. We don't knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children.
